Newark youngster George Lepley and the Ford Fiesta R2 crew of Perry Gardener and Keaton Williams continue to dominate, each with victories on all 3 gravel rounds so far. George rounded off a Top 10 which saw five FMP Contenders claim points, the most successful of them being Llanfarian co-driver 20 year old Gareth Parry who took 3rd overall with Scott Faulkner in the Group N Mitsubishi Evo 9.
The results now see all but one of the Top six driver / co-driver placings being occupied by Junior Contenders.
Six contenders selected the Masterpixel Media Manx National Rally for overseas points. The most successful overall were Oli Hopkins co-driven by ‘FMP’regular Ian Taylor in the Mitsubishi Mirage, followed by the Hillman Avenger of Baz Jordan and Arwel Jenkins. Hopkins /Taylor missed out on a Top 20 position after losing a wheel.
Thirty six registered contenders scored points and the current tie at the top technically sees Lepley hold the lead. Although he and Gardener have earned maximum points, George took a first in class position on the very first stage of the first round, the Cambrian Rally, whereas Perry took a second in class.
